LEGO®-Based Therapy

LEGO®-Based Therapy is a fun, interactive, and evidence-based approach designed to support children and young people in developing social communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Originally developed for children with autism and social communication difficulties, this approach is also beneficial for those with anxiety, ADHD, and other social or emotional challenges. How Does It Work?

In LEGO®-Based Therapy, children work together in small groups to build LEGO® models while taking on specific roles:

  • The Engineer – Gives instructions on how to build.
  • The Supplier – Finds and passes the correct pieces.
  • The Builder – Puts the model together.

This structured teamwork encourages cooperation, turn-taking, communication, and problem-solving in a supportive and engaging environment. Sessions can be tailored to help children build confidence, manage emotions, and strengthen relationships with peers.

Who Can Benefit?

LEGO®-Based Therapy is ideal for children who may struggle with:
Social communication difficulties (including autism spectrum conditions)
Making and maintaining friendships
Understanding and managing emotions
Anxiety and low self-esteem
Collaboration and teamwork skills

Through play, children develop essential social and emotional skills in a natural and enjoyable way.
