Chris Edwards, Occupational therapist for young minds (EMDR)
HCPC Registered number OT68211
Hi, I´m Chris, an Occupational Therapist based in Penrith with extensive experience in mental health and education supporting primary and secondary children, teens, families and adults. I am trained in Eye movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) psychotherapy for trauma.
I can provide support for clients experiencing a range of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation and emotionally based school avoidance.
I also work with clients who identify as being neurodiverse or suspect they may be neuro-diverse, including difficulties such as coping at school, communicating and interacting with others.
Lastly, I also enjoy supporting clients from LBGTQIA+ communities who may be having difficulties around their sexuality and may feel confused, rejected or judged by others.
As a therapist, I will work with the individual to identify how their mental health and well-being affects them, provide valuable coping skills, and work together to achieve their future goals.
My approach is holistic, so I consider every element of the person’s life in therapy. I also ensure that our sessions are tailored to the person’s needs and is in an environment that is non-judgemental, open-minded and adaptable.
