Ellie Bennett – Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Bsc (hons), PGdip in counselling & psychotherapy, registered member of BACP, and MNCPS acc.

About Me:

I’m Ellie Bennett, a person-centred psychotherapist based in Kendal, Cumbria.

I have years of experience supporting children and young people affected by complex trauma, abuse, neglect, attachment challenges and ACEs in trauma informed settings. I have additional experience working with neurodiverse individuals, including autism and ADHD across mainstream and SEN settings. I specialise in working with young adults facing a variety of complex emotional and psychological challenges at my private practice in Kendal and online.

Having experienced significant trauma during my early twenties, i tried to seek help off various professionals but often came away from the experience feeling disheartened. And like I had never found the counsellor who was the right fit for me. This prompted me to turn my lived experience into something meaningful- the opportunity to help others based off my own experiences. I immediately retrained in counselling and psychotherapy which helped me regain my passion and spark for life again.

I have a warm, earthy approach in the counselling room and am committed to helping others create fulfilment and to take back their power. I cater my approach to each client with the understanding that each individual has different needs. My practice is guided by person-centred principles, focusing on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. I pride myself on the success I have with being able to build a strong rapport with my clients- something of which I believe is critical to the overall success of counselling, and is pivotal when creating lasting client outcomes. My own experiences can help in terms of creating relatability and understanding and aid in providing a non-judgemental approach. I hope that I be a part of your journey towards healing.
